~Word Filled Wednesday~

For my "WFW" I want to share what I studied tonight in Psalms 18, and a portion from Max Lucado's ~ A Gentle Thunder:

"May I share with you a favorite verse of mine? I like it so much I wrote it on the first page of my Bible."

"Because He delights in me, he save me." Psalm 18:19

"And you thought he saved you because of your decency. You thought he saved you because of your good works or good attitude or good looks. Sorry. If that were the case, your salvation would be lost when your voice went south or your works got weak.

There are many reasons God saves you: to bring glory to himself, to appease his justice, to demonstrate his sovereignty. But one of the sweetest reasons God saved you is because he is fond of you. He likes having you around. He thinks you are the best thing to come down the pike in quite awhile." "As a man rejoices over his new wife, so your God will rejoice over you." Isaiah 62:5

If God had a referigerator, your picture would be on it. If he had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever he you want to talk, he'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and he chose your heart. And the Christmas gift he sent you in Bethlehem? Face it, friend, He's crazy about you."

Do you sometimes miss exactly how much God loves us? I know I'm guilty of that. But, think about it, who else would send their Son to die a cruel death for you and I, who is ALWAYS available, just waiting for us to talk to Him, and who else can live in our heart?

As we come upon the next few months, think about how much he loves you!

Have a fantastic Wednesday. And if you have not, visit more WFW with Amy.

Love, Cheryl

I love that... I'm reminded of "The Shack", Paul Young's book, in which God says, "I'm especially fond of you."

Thanks for the reminder...

this is so nice to be reminded of. How can we not find joy in serving God when He loves us that much.

Oh, that was so good.

Sometimes it's hard to believe God delights in me, I know I can be a cranky daughter!!

Just to think how much He loves us is so amazing.

Thanks for the reminder today. What a way for me to begin my day.

Blessings to you Cheryl.

PS Thanks for your prayers last week, you are such a blessing to me.

Awesome. I find it staggering how much He love us! To know that, as much as I love my own children, He loves us so much more than that -- it is mind blowing and heart opening.

What a great reminder - God "delights" in us. Wow! Sometimes I don't find myself very "delightable", but I'm so glad He does. It's comforting. Happy WFW to you!

I don't think our human minds can fathom how much GOD loves us. Your post reminds me of this. We can only use so many analogies and English words to try. . .
It is a given that HE LOVES US. What is most important is "Do we LOVE HIM?" and "How much?"

So much to consider in your beautifully written and poinant post. Thank you and Happy Wednesday!

Great minds think alike! I was surprised when I saw your post on "Gentle Thunder"! I posted on this yesterday. I am behind in reading blogs and decided to make a post and catch up reading later.
I think is is awesome when you see what God is telling you...one way he shows me is by seeing the same thing come up in the blogs I read.
God has a sense of humor and I think he is smiling big right now. He is thinking "Darlene you are catching on"!! (Light bulb moment)
How awesome is this!
