~Soap Bubbles~

Have you ever encountered firsthand or heard that dishwashers and and dish soap don't mix well together! Years ago, I had a friend, who had used regular dish soap because she was out of the soap that you use in the dishwasher. This is what happens. And, this is even the "cleaned-up version."

I have a red decorative bottle that I keep on my counter with dish soap in it. I've been using soaps and cleaners that are not bad for the environment. When I put said "green" dish soap in this bottle, it kept pushing the lid off. Since I couldn't use the pour spout lid, for whatever "green" reason, I took the lid off which made a mess on the bottle. When the bottle was empty earlier in the week, I stuck it in the dishwasher to get all the soap off of it.

I noticed that some soap had dripped out of the bottle into the bottom of the dishwasher. When running this dishwasher, sure enough, I walked in the kitchen and there was soap and water all over the floor. So, me and my little helper (who was really there to just "sniff" cleaned the water and soap from the floor, and just stopped the dishwasher. Later in the day, I tested it again to see if I could just finish running it and if the soap would finally go away.

Well, it did, but these are the pictures taken of the 2nd mess, which got trapped in the towel I put down. Once the load was finished running, all the bubbles were gone.

Have a great weekend! I'll leave you with one last picture of "my helper" who is taking a break.

How funny! You know what?? When my sister & I were younger and were "cleaning" our house for our mom, we put "sink soap" in the dishwasher too. I mean, it wasn't by accident.. we were just too young and naive to know better. (We kept the house clean for my mom.. we usually did it while she was at work because we LOVED to surprise her)

So.. the "big secret" is that once we realized it would do that.. we did it again another time or two just for the fun of it. (We got towels and ran sliding across the floor) We thought it was justifiable because it WAS "mopping" too, ya know?

Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog this week. It's good to be back - I've MISSED YOU! :-)

Oh MY!!! This happened to me when I asked Joey to start the dishwasher. I was not home and he put Dawn in the little cup all the way to the brim!! He called in a panic and I was so glad I wasn't home....he cleaned the mess and we laugh about it now.
I have not heard of the green cleaning products. What brand is it?
Your little helper is adorable!
Happy Bubbles,
Darlene
