~Then Sings My Soul Saturday~ Here With Me~ Mercy Me~

If You Have A Need, Plant A Seed
LUKE 6:38 NKJ ~"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be
measured back to you."

The natural response to having a need is to focus on getting instead of giving. And to hang on tightly to what we have.

But God does not bless selfishness. He is a giver, and desires for us to become like Him. So, God's Word tells us to give.

God is trying to raise us to a higher level of thinking, where we trust in His faithful provision, and act in line with that faith by blessing others.

PROVERBS 11:24 NET ~"One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty."

It requires faith to give when you don't have enough to meet your own needs. But remember that faith pleases God, and nothing is too hard for God.

Faith acts on God's Word. Fear hesitates.

To help us understand how giving can enrich us, instead of impoverishing us, Scripture pictures a farmer planting seed for a harvest.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:6,10 NLT ~"Remember this--a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you."

Plant whatever seed God has given you, and God will give the increase through a harvest of blessing, and your needs will be met.

GALATIANS 6:7 CEV ~"You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant."

You are never without seed. Anything of value can be a seed. Your time is valuable, so if nothing else, you can give time to pray for others as a seed.

"I can feel your presence here with me
Suddenly I'm lost within your beauty
Caught up in the wonder of your touch
Here in this moment I surrender to your love"

Sister, I find delight in imagining you singing this. I know you are. God bless your worshiping soul. {hugs}

"Faith acts on God's Word. Fear hesitates." So many times I have hesitated out of fear...I want to grasp the hand of God in faith and STEP OUT! What an awesome song to remind us of His constant presence with us. Thank you my friend.

Blessings,
Tracy

Your words were so needed here today. I do tend to focus on metting my own needs when they feel unmet, of getting rather than giving. Thank you for this message.

It's interesting that you are talking about seed... I was in the Beth Moore Simulcast this week-end and her subject came from Luke 8.. the parable of the sower!!

Cheryl, you could post that every Saturday and that message would never get old. I will be back through out the week to just re~read that. I would just copy and paste it in my own document, but I really like the way your blog looks. Friendly and fun.

I love to read about the truth in God's Word regarding faith. Often, it seems just the opposite of what the natural man's mind would think to do. And it is!

Where in Oklahoma, are you? I have email on my blog if you don't want to put that out into the entire blogosphere.

What job are you doing in medicine that you call MLS?

Thank you, for the condolence. I will pass that along to my husband, Jon.

I wish that I had read this before I went to church tonight. At church, I was thinking about me and ended up not having a very good time at church. Now that I'm home, I realize that I had opportunities to talk to other people, to encourage others, and to give my little bit to a special offering. So, I'll remember this week - have a need, plant a seed.

Hey Cheryl, (It's your buddy Echo LaFawn!) Thanks for the prayers about the Beth Moore Simulcast. It's actually now over (last night and today til 1:00). It was unbelievable! I wish you could have gone! I was taking notes so fast trying to keep up with her! So many incredible insights - can't even put words to it yet!

Love ya!

Well, I replayed it three times! I'll be back again, too, throughout the week to hear it over and over! Thank you so much for sharing. I also needed your message today, too. I was just talking with someone about how, when you face a diagnosis of breast cancer, suddenly it becomes "all about me!" even if you don't mean it to. Prayers, thoughts, fears, anxieties, plans for each day . . . . they all seem to center around little old ME! My prayer is that I will see other's needs as big and as worthy of attention as mine and plant the seeds given to me into their lives. Thanks so much for the confirmation of this in my life!

SO exceptionally TRUE...Cheryl!!!

"If YOU HAVE A NEED PLANT A SEED!"

I know that was how I was saved from my deepest pit of depression in the early 90s! Great words!

LOVE the video and MERCY ME!

This is the true meaning of building up and edifying the Body of Christ! Psalm 89 and then Luke 6that you have used here give such aMazing wisdom through you and your words! Then you follow that with great gems of Proverbs on faith and trust in the Lord!

Thank you for planting in the harvest of my life and seeding His Words from 2 Corinthians reminding me why I am here to plant whatever God has given me!

This was so concise and well put together with great morsels all the way through from your heart
and understanding!

I will not fear, I will walk in faith. I will trust as I plant.
He has always met me and my needs
as I seed.

Your words and sharing plus this GREAT SONG meets me in my place and I see HIM face to face because
of YOU and how you bless me! Thank you for feeling me with His Presence!

You deserve every award that they can pour on YOU! You forgot to take my SHARING THE LOVE AWARD also...please do! I especially want to SHARE HIS LOVE with you
...I've been traveling since I posted my Anniversary blog and just catching up!Hope you receive my AWARD...everyone blesses you with awards before I have the chance...but I want you to have MORE LOVE! Hoping your job is going well and GREAT for you!
