~TSMSS~ You Reign~ Mercy Me~

I recently told you about my uncle and cousin, both with lung cancer. Well they both passed away early Friday morning. We will be celebrating my uncle's life Tuesday. Not sure about my cousin. I would ask you specifically to remember my cousin, Anita. She is an only child. It is hard enough with siblings and a mother who does not have dementia. I know the last 1 1/2 weeks have been so hard on her, and this is a hard road to walk. Her mother is still alive, I don't think can stay alone. Please pray for this transition to go smoothly.

Have a great weekend!
Blessings!

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday~ Chris Tomlin~How Can I Keep From Singing

I guess earlier I forgot to mention, the statistics for this type of cancer that Jan has, is 7-9 months. But, with saying that we have come in contact with people who are living 20 years after being diagnosed, who have beat the statistics. HOWEVER, we choose not to go by statistics. We believe this is in God's hands.

In Psalm 139: 13 ~ You made my whole being; you formed me in my mother's body.
I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.
You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother's body.
When I was put together there, you saw my body as it was formed.
All the days planned for me were written in your book
before I was one day old. God, your thoughts are precious to me.
They are so many! If I could count them, they would be more
than all the grains of sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.
Here are pictures of Jan, Mom, Donna, and myself. Our lunch was not real long, but that did not matter. The point was for the 4 of us to be together. It was a bit last minute, and I had asked Jenny, my niece, but she had to go to lunch at a different time today. She was greatly missed.

Jan used to have, in her words, "thin, straight stringy hair." There was a BIG possibility with radiation, she would not get her hair back. But as you've seen, she was blessed. Her hair is now very CURLY. It isn't long enough yet to know exactly what it will be like. She said she would never complain about her hair again. Not sure if you can tell, but it is curly.

Enjoy these pictures!

Donna

I didn't really like my picture ~ Not sure where this look came from. I'll have to blame it on Jan, she took the picture and approved it. I will finish the history part. I'm doing some extra work right now. We have another birthday tomorrow in our family. I'll see if I can remember my camera. It is for my nephew, Micah. This picture here is of my nephew, Micah and my niece, Jen.
Happy Birthday, Micah!
I will be back shortly... to finish this.

Blessings!

~Signs, Miracles, and Wonders~

I think most all who read my blog have seen on Saturdays I participate in "Then Sings My Soul Saturday." Amy @ Signs, Miracles, and Wonders hosts this meme. If you have not met Amy or participated, please think about participating. Each week you write a post about a song of your choice. One that has spoken to you in some way, or as Amy put it on the Inaugural Edition, "a song that makes your soul sing."

The following is a link to TSMSS - Inaugural Edition with all the instructions - Then Sings My Soul Saturday. You can give the lyrics of the song, why you are posting it, and/or the actual music from YouTube or GodTube, which is very easy to post. And, there may be a lot of songs and artists that you are introduced to, that you may not have otherwise been and you may make some new friends.

Now, I also want to ask something more of you. Amy and her husband Greg, have a son, Spencer, who is 8. Spencer suffers from status epilepticus. Please pray for Spencer, as well as his family. You can go here and read about Spencer and his new friend, Lucia, who is a dog, that alerts Amy and Greg of impending seizures. Even though, things have improved since they got Lucia, prayers are still so very needed. Amy is an Epilepsy Advocate and speaks on the subject of epilepsy.

You will be blessed if you join in each Saturday with Then Sings My Soul Saturday. Thank you for your prayers for Spencer, and his family.

Blessings!

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday~

It has been a rather frustrating week. But, I'm hopeful with the recent changes (tonight) with my job, it will be taken care of.

Jan is scheduled to return to MD Anderson for testing Monday. I would ask you join us in praying we are blessed with good results. She has been feeling good on the new treatment and so this is a plus. She has enough hair that now that she feels comfortable that we doesn't have to wear a wig/hat. She got it cut yesterday and it looks GREAT! Her hair used to be straight as a board, but now she has a bit of curl. I copied her picture she had put on her blog. Doesn't she look fabulous?

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday~ Here With Me~ Mercy Me~

If You Have A Need, Plant A Seed
LUKE 6:38 NKJ ~"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be
measured back to you."

The natural response to having a need is to focus on getting instead of giving. And to hang on tightly to what we have.

But God does not bless selfishness. He is a giver, and desires for us to become like Him. So, God's Word tells us to give.

God is trying to raise us to a higher level of thinking, where we trust in His faithful provision, and act in line with that faith by blessing others.

PROVERBS 11:24 NET ~"One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty."

It requires faith to give when you don't have enough to meet your own needs. But remember that faith pleases God, and nothing is too hard for God.

Faith acts on God's Word. Fear hesitates.

To help us understand how giving can enrich us, instead of impoverishing us, Scripture pictures a farmer planting seed for a harvest.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:6,10 NLT ~"Remember this--a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you."

Plant whatever seed God has given you, and God will give the increase through a harvest of blessing, and your needs will be met.

GALATIANS 6:7 CEV ~"You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant."

You are never without seed. Anything of value can be a seed. Your time is valuable, so if nothing else, you can give time to pray for others as a seed.

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday ~ Song of Love~

It has been good week! I'm so very thankful that I have a job and that I'm moving forward. Jan has returned from M.D. Anderson. I don't think they have the results of her blood work yet. Pray that she continues to tolerate this chemo with no or minimal side effects and good results on her testing. Mom will be seeing her primary physician Monday to follow up on her testing and to see what our next step is. My cousin asked me to Thank everyone for their prayers. She will be seeing her oncologist Tuesday to discuss future treatment. Please pray for peace and knowledge as they move forward in this regard.

Have a great weekend!

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday~

Be Who You Are

1 CORINTHIANS 15:10 NIV ~ But by the grace of God I am what I am....
ROMANS 12:2 Wuest, An Expanded Translation ~ And stop assuming an outward expression that does not come from within you and is not representative of what you are in your inner being but is patterned after this age; but change your outward expression to one that comes from within and is representative of your inner being, by the renewing of your mind, resulting in your putting to the test what is the will of God, the good and well-pleasing and complete will, and having found that it meets specifications, place your approval upon it. God is a brilliant Creator. He only makes originals -- not copies. According to Ephesians 2:10, you are God's work of art.

God made you unique. So be all that God created you to be.

Don't try to be someone else. Don't try to be an ear in the Body of Christ, if God made you a foot. Just be yourself.

This does not mean that you cannot improve, or grow. Growth is part of God's plan. And we can certainly learn from others, and imitate excellent actions and attitudes.

But too many people are insecure and hope to gain acceptance from others by conforming to what they think will make them popular or successful -- even though they hate it and know they are not being real.

ROMANS 12:2 Phillips ~ Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould....

Don't let the world pressure you into conforming.

Express the originality that God put within you. God made you the way you are for a purpose -- His purpose.

This is not to encourage rebellion, of course. But it is not God's plan for us all to be identical and do everything in the same way.

I am not saying you have to try to be different. Just be who God made you -- without fear.

Not everyone may like you, or what you do. But that is normal. You can't always please everyone. Make it your aim to please God by expressing what He made you.

ROMANS 12:2 NLT ~ Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

The Bible reveals many truths about who we are once we receive Jesus Christ. We actually receive new life, a new standing with God, and new ability. As you feed the Word of God into your thinking, that new life will be able to manifest more and more.

I am what I am by the grace of God. I will be what God made me and fulfil His plan for me.

~Then Sings My Soul Saturdays~Mighty to Save~Hillsong~

Please remember Jan as she started her new treatment Thursday. Everything seems to be going good. Our prayer would be that this is the treatment that will kill ALL tumor and cancer cells, as well as NO long term side effects and if any minimal side effects while on treatment. Please ask God to give her Peace, Faith and Hope, as well. As she told me recently, it takes everything she has to fight this. I can't begin to imagine the heavy load this must be. We've see God's hand at work throughout her journey thus far and we Praise God for his help and guidance every step of the way!

Please also remember my Mom and Jan's husband, Gerald. They are probably the 2 closest people to Jan.

I would also ask that you remember me as I continue my search for a job. Pray that I will "Be Still and Listen" so that I will know where I will best fit. Although I have peace, it is uncomfortable.

Please also remember my cousin who is also fighting cancer, and Joyce who should be starting chemo Monday. She has had a very bumpy road so far. She had a PET CT scan Thursday. They probably won't get the results until Monday.

Following are the words to "Mighty to Save." We know that God has the ability to do anything! Nothing is too big or too small for Him. He cares about our biggest concerns, as well as our smallest concerns.

Have a great weekend!

Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
A kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations

Savior
He can move the mountains

My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save

Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender

Shine your light and let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus

TSMS- Saturday ~ Who Am I ~ Casting Crowns

Esphesians 2: 8-9 ~ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.

Psalm 147:11 ~ the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Romans 3:24 ~ and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 9:30 ~ What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;

Psalm 25:11 ~ Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.

Jan/Gerald will leave Monday to return M.D. Anderson for testing on Tuesday/Wednesday. Please pray for safe travels, no tumor growth while on no treatment, and for her to pass the requirements for this clinical trial IF it is God's will that she be on this trial. If it is not, please have God open the door to what treatment she should be on IMMEDIATELY, so she can get started on treatment again.

Joyce had a lung biopsy on Wednesday. At the time of the biopsy the doctor punctured her lung. It wasn't until Friday afternoon that they were able to get her lung to stay inflated. She hasn't had the PET CT scan as of yet because of all these other problems. They do have part of the results back on the biopsy and she has "NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER." This is the better of the two, if you can say that with any cancer. Please pray that the cancer has not metastasized. Please also remember Joyce is not a Christian.

Please remember my cousin also who has CLL. She is contemplating a new clinical trial.

PLEASE PRAY ALL 3 OF THESE WOMEN HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF PEACE! They each have a different type of cancer. Please pray God will intervene here with complete earthly healing.

Thanking God today for His gift of salvation and also for our Freedom!

~Then Sings My Soul Saturday ~ Potters Hand~

Isaiah 64:8 ~ Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Romans 9:20-21 ~ But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
Isaiah 19:25 ~ The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, "Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance."

I've been hooked on this song this week, so I thought it only appropriate I use it for my song tonight. I pray I allow God to be the potter and I the clay. Make me, mold me and use me!
