~Word Filled Wednesday~

02A
Psalm 8:1 ~ O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Several weeks ago there was a program on all the major networks ~ Stand up to cancer. In this program, it stated that 1 out of 3 people would have cancer at some point! With that being said, it seems everywhere you turn there are more and more people that are being diagnosed. There are several right now in my family with cancer, two of which have lung cancer. My uncle, Spencer, my Dad's brother has lung cancer. He is the last of my Dad's siblings who is alive. He chose not to have treatment. I'm not sure why, maybe his age? His wife is still living, but she has many medical problems, one being dementia. My cousin, Anita is his only child, so this falls all her shoulders. I spent some time talking with Anita Monday and this is a very difficult time for her. I remember vividly how it was the days before Dad passed on. It is hard enough with a Mother who is aware and siblings.

So, today I would just ask to remember these in my family with this horrible disease, but also the many others who are fighting this ugly disease! And, September is Childhood Cancer month. Chili's takes a percentage of the money spent this month to go to support childhood cancer.

Very encouraging and mindful WFW and so true!! It's something that we tend to let slip when the reality is that it is something that is often quiet and much needed to be mindful of.

Bless you for a beautiful post!

Cheryl,

This was a very touching WFW post. The picture and verse were lovely.

I have several members of my family, including myself, who have suffered from cancer or who have succumbed to it. I am mindful too...God bless you for reminding us all to remember.

Blessings to you today sweet one.

What a beautiful picture and verse. I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. Cancer hits home in my family, too, and it's hard! Very hard. Thankfully, right now we are all clean. Daddy has recovered from kidney cancer, my grandmother from breast cancer, and my uncle, her son, is clean from malignant melanoma. I wonder why cancer is so prevalent right now? It's a force to be reckoned with, and while medicine can treat it, to a certain extent, only God can cure it and bless those in it's ugly path with His comfort. May God comfort you, Cheryl. Happy WFW!

Blessings Cheryl...How excellent is HIS NAME...JESUS!!! And in His glory, He sees Anita and all in your family and as we come before His throne, He
stands up to CANCER...and HE proclaims, "Get behind me Cancer!"
And He covers it with His blood! And we proclaim, Worthy is the Lamb!

Prayers going up so that the blessings start to come down upon your heart and your family!!! Hold on...JOY comes in the morning and through the Praises in the storm!
What a heavy burden for Anita & you!

The photo & verse capture perfectly
the precision of Our Loving God!
Thank you for sharing & caring even when you are hurting & raw in remembering the loss of your dad,but heaven's gain! There still is HOPE FOR EACH DAY! Enjoy WFW!
May HIS WORD bring you comfort & peace!

Hi Cheryl,
MY FAVORITE photo and great verse too!
Beautiful!
I'm praying for your family and
1 in 3? That's just unreal. Just think of all the sets of three people we know. We just need a cure.
Love Lea

You are so right, it seems this awful disease is everywhere. I am praying for you and your family and thank you for doing the same for me. My sister had lumpectomy on Wed. and all her nodes look clear so at least we had some good news. I feel so bad since there are so many out there not having good news. I am prayerful that someday this disease becomes a thing of the past.
