Since I added this bit about "A Life Changed" on the blog I created for my sister, I thought I would add it to my blog as well. I created this blog probably a year ago, but never did anything with it. It has new meaning today.
This is a picture of Jan with Aubree. This picture was taken on Halloween, 10/31/07. We had no idea that she would be fighting this fight just a mere 13 days later. As I sit here tonight, she is doing amazingly well. She has finished the first phase of her treatment consisting of radiation/chemo. On February 11 she will return to M.D. Anderson for testing. We continue with "Hope for Each Day!" Nothing is too Big for Our God.
On November 13, 2007 a very special person's life changed drastically. Jan a/k/a Grammy had emergency brain surgery for what we would later come to find out was glioblastoma multiforme. As this is my sister (baby, at that) it has been amazing to watch God at work here, not just in her healing process, but he has given her the FIGHT and the GRACE that she needs to fight this battle. I think I can safely say that this is not a road that any of us would choose for Jan to have to walk (or anyone else for that matter), but God did not give us that choice. But, there is a reason God has allowed this, so we will do whatever is necessary to FIGHT right along with Jan, as well as love and support her the best we know how.
Praise the LORD, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, I tell myself, and never forget the good things he does for me."Psalm 103:1-2

Hello, Oscar Grimm here. I was diagnosed with GBM about 11mo ago. I'll make it quick since I’m just getting back from a month traveling over the holidays. I had an MRI on Dec 10 and it showed significant tumor shrinkage, after 7mo of no conventional (American) treatment.
I've studied and learned a lot in the last year, and am now (aside from some residual right-sided weakness from surgery) feeling better than I have felt in roughly 20yrs. I’m learning a lot about all this mess, and am happy to share what I’ve learned. If you'd ever like to share research, or even just chat, please do feel free to give me a call or email. 510.922.1900
The treatment I’m on has been approved and supported by M.D. Anderson, which I see you’re working with. It’s called the Banerjee protocol, named after the doctor that created it in Calcutta, India. Its success numbers are far superior to any treatment I’ve seen state side, you may want to do a google search on it, or on Ruta-6.
Health and Happiness to you. The mind is an amazing machine,
Oscar
